We have two new foster kids. Thomas age three and his brother Benny age two. For some reason Thomas calls to himself as Bear.
This has been a lot like when we had Angel and Aaliyah. Having a two, three, and a four year old. And just like last time the biggest problem was the three year old.
Last time the three year old was Ricky, he had trouble sharing, was really clingy to mom and caused a lot of conflicts.
Now Thomas (age three) is doing all the same things and in comparison Ricky is looking like the model of good behavior. Thomas dissolves into tears when asked to share, lower his voice, or wait for anything. At first he would stay upset for quite a while but now he seams to realize that in our house, that's not going to work.
Benny is the average two year old, he cries when he doesn't get his way and follows his brother around in absolute adoration. Benny still takes naps which is nice so we can have a bit of a rest from all three of them in the afternoon.
Yesterday church was interesting, Dad went to sunbeams with Thomas because Thomas (or Bear as he reefers to himself as) isn't good a being quiet or listening to rules. But surprisingly we made it through sacrament meeting with only one interruption from Thomas and not so much as a peep from Benny. (Well we hushed him a couple times and that was it.)
Like whenever we have new foster kids I'm feeling a new respect for families with several small children. How people do this all the time? Well I suppose it might get easier when they get used to the routine.
Well that's it for now,
Madelyn
